Business Help

Business provides three levels of help:

  Windows Macintosh  
       
  Tooltips Tooltips  
  F1 Help Quick Help  
  HTML Help HTML Help  

Tooltips

Tooltips are available for each button and column heading in Business function. To view a tooltip for a button or column heading, place your mouse cursor over a button or column heading and pause without clicking the mouse button. The tooltip will appear after a second or two and disappear after a few seconds, or when you move your cursor.

F1 Help (for Windows users)

F1 Help is available for each tray and field within Business function. To view F1 Help for a tray, click on a document and press the F1 key on your keyboard. To view help for a field in an open document,  place your cursor in a field within the open document and press the F1 key on your keyboard. A Help dialog box is displayed.

A vertical scroll bar is displayed in the Help dialog box if required. Click and drag the scroll bar up and down to view the information not visible in the text display area.

Once in a Help dialog box, you can either return to the application by clicking the OK button, or you can view more Help. To view additional Help information, click the More Help button in the Help dialog box. ECI Client software will prompt you to open your Internet connection. When the Internet connection is established, a page of HTML Help (see below) on the ATO website will be displayed on your browser.

Quick Help (for Macintosh users)

Help is available for each tray and field within Business function. To view Quick Help for a tray, click on a document and press the Help key on your keyboard. To view help for a field in an open document, place your cursor in a field within the open document and press the Help key on your keyboard. A Help dialog box is displayed.

HTML Help

To view HTML Help, you must have an open Internet connection. HTML Help can be accessed from each screen in Business functions. To view HTML Help, perform the following steps:

  1. Either click the Online Help menu item on the ECI Client software Navigation Bar,
    OR
    Click on any Tray, then press the F1 key on your keyboard. When the Help dialog box is displayed, click the More Help button from within the Help dialog box.

  2. If your Internet connection is closed, a message will be displayed prompting you to establish an Internet connection. When your connection is established the ECI Client software will automatically open your browser and locate the correct page of HTML Help.
  3. To view a full list of Help topics click on the contents hyperlink at the top of any HTML Help page. This link will take you to a list of all the topics available in Business HTML Help.
  4. The Business Help contents is divided into the following sections:
    • Overview - provides background information about Business functions and an overview of the functions available in each tray within Business functions.
    • Tasks - provides additional information about each task that can be performed in Business functions.
